Abstract
In Korea, healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) are expected to increase. In order to establish an infection control policy, a national survey was conducted about the status of hospital infection control. 1,442 hospitals among 2,108 targeted hospitals responded to the questionnaire. The analysis showed that the healthcare facilities with an infection control committee and/or a department of infection control performed more enhanced infection control activities including planing, risk assessment, and confirmation and responses to outbreak than those without it. This study identified statistically significant factors associated with infection control activities in Korea.
